Classroom Technology Rules

1.  Respect all technology and treat it as if it is you own.
2.  Use 2 hands when carrying any device.
3.  Keep food and drink AWAY from devices.
4.  Listen to instructions BEFORE touching the technology.
5.  Only use technology when permitted by the teacher.
6.  Do not access other student’s work.
7.  Only access teacher-approved sites.  (If you do access an unapproved or dangerous site, notify your teacher immediately).
8.  Think before you post.
9.  Think before you print.
10.  If today’s class work on the computer is not complete, tomorrow you will be using pen and paper.

These rules should be explicitly explained and modeled at the beginning of the school year.  Posters should be displayed around the room as reminders throughout the school year.  If a student does not abide by these rules, the privilege of using technology will be removed for an allotted amount of time decided by the teacher.
